Awards

The Beta Alpha Chapter strives for excellence in all that we do.  This commitment distinguishes us from other chapters on the MS&T campus.  However, not only have we stood out at Missouri S&T by winning awards in several competitions and consistently receiving a GPA above the all-Greek average, we have stood out nationally as well; this past year we received the prestigious Samuel Zenas Ammen award for the 26th year in a row. This award is give to the top 10% of chapter in the nation for operational excellence.

In 1999, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007 we received the George C. Marshall award. This award is given annually to the top three KA chapters out of 135 nationwide and honors the chapters for operational excellence and superior achievement.

Although Beta Alpha's primary responsibilities are to scholarship and the ideals of Kappa Alpha, we are also very successful in other competitions on campus.  Greek Week is one of these competitions and Beta Alpha is always one of the top houses.  Another competition that we take very seriously is Greek sing, and this year we managed to take home first place; thanks to our amazing band.  The final and most important on campus competition is   St. Pats.  Beta Alpha almost always manages to place in the top three, however in 2006 we placed first place overall and we took second place for our cudgel..
